”When Americans talk about folks like me paying my fair share of taxes, it’s not because they envy the rich. It’s because they understand that when I get tax breaks I don’t need and the country can’t afford, it either adds to the deficit, or somebody else has to make up the difference - like a senior on a fixed income; or a student trying to get through school; or a family trying to make ends meet. That’s not right. Americans know it’s not right. They know that this generation’s success is only possible because past generations felt a responsibility to each other, and to their country’s future, and they know our way of life will only endure if we feel that same sense of shared responsibility.” — President Barack Obama.

DP/30: Shame, co-writer/director Steve McQueen, actor Michael Fassbender
This is such a great interview. I’m quite envious of their collaborative relationship. They’re both seriously committed to each other and to the overall creative process. I would love to have a conversation with them one day. Heck, I’d love to be in their presence for just one second.

“I’m going to win an Oscar at 50 - definitely, and I’m going to die at 49 and a half to ensure I get that Oscar. I need to die as close to the Oscar ceremony as possible so I’m the last person in the montage of dead people they show every year. That’s the best spot, you know.
Man, I really hope the internet sticks around so people can reference this article in my obituaries and see that what sounds like a joke was actually amazingly prescient.”

I’m sorry…This dog and Michael Fassbender are the only two things I care about in my life right now. They should be given all the awards.
